CAR #1 (S.Loeb / D. Elena): “I was quite surprised by Ford's choice to be first on the road because we all know the features of the stages here inSardinia. The perfect road position was fifth and I think our choice couldn't have been better. It's a tough event and we're still at the beginning of it”. CAR #2 (M. Hirvonen / J. Lehtinen): “All ok, the starting position we chose was good and our tyre choice was right. Tomorrow and Saturday the event will be very tough”. CAR #3 (J.M Latvala / M. Anttila): “I choose to start first for two reasons: avoid to run the stage in the dark, avoid dust and also because I thought that the stage would have been cleaner in the second run. The rain of the last couple of days made the terrain very compact so after all there was no difference. I had a front left puncture 10km into SS2 because I came too wide into a corner. It's difficult now to take the time back but you never know”. CAR #4 (P. Solberg / C. Pattersson): “I'm happy with what I did today and to be honest we thought we'd find more dust on the second passage. I'm pretty happy anyway”. CAR #6 (E. Novikov / I. Minor): “It could have been better but it's ok now, I can't complain too much. It's a result that I can improve so we'll push more tomorrow”. CAR #7 (T. Neuville / N. Gilsoul): “It's a shame we didn't have splits on the first stage but I was also going a bit too carefully. On the second passage I attacked more and everything went well”. CAR #10 (M. Ostberg / J. Andersson): “On SS1 we had a spin and hit a rock with the front left of the car damaging the drive shaft. The steering broke and it was really hard to drive. I drove SS2 without steering but it was good fun”. CAR #12 (C. Atkinson / S. Prevot): “We had some problems with the car on both stages. We don't know what's going on, we'll try to find out what's wrong in service”.
