19/08/2012 - Ford driver Jari-Matti Latvala hit a bank 1km from the beginning of SS5 – Castelsardo, the second stage of the day. The young Finn damaged the radiator of his Ford Fiesta RS WRC and was forced to stop. The team will estimate the damage on the car and decide if Latvala will be able to re-join the rally tomorrow under Rally2 regulations.
Mikko Hirvonen took the stage win, only 0.2 second ahead of Petter Solberg (Ford) and 2.5 seconds ahead young Russian driver Evgeny Novikov.
